Your Journey, Day by Day
Guwahati – Kaziranga
Arrive at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, where our representative will assist you with your transfer to Kaziranga, approximately a 4-hour drive. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. Enjoy an overnight stay in Kaziranga.
Kaziranga Wildlife Safari
Start your day with an early morning elephant safari at around 5:30–6:30 AM. After breakfast, head out for an exciting jeep safari through Kaziranga’s Central Range, covering Kohora, Daphlang, and Kathpora. Later, enjoy a visit to a nearby village and tea garden before returning to the hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.
Kaziranga – Shillong
After breakfast, check out from your Kaziranga hotel and drive to Shillong, the “Scotland of the East,” which takes around 6 hours. En route, visit the scenic Umiam Lake (Barapani), Meghalaya’s largest artificial lake, and enjoy its peaceful surroundings. If time permits, you can also visit the Cathedral of Mary and Ward’s Lake. On arrival in Shillong, check in to your hotel and relax. Spend the evening at leisure, exploring the local area or enjoying some shopping. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Shillong – Cherrapunji Excursion
After breakfast, set out from Shillong for a scenic excursion to Cherrapunji (Sohra), located about 2 hours away. En route, visit the beautiful Elephant Falls and enjoy the stunning landscapes. Upon reaching Sohra, stop at Duwan Sing Syiem Viewpoint to admire the panoramic views of the surrounding hills.
Continue your sightseeing with visits to the spectacular Seven Sister Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later, take a short walk through the fascinating Mawsmai Cave, known for its natural limestone formations. Complete the day with a visit to Ramakrishna Mission before returning to your hotel in Shillong for a relaxing overnight stay.
Shillong – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong
After breakfast, set out from Shillong for an excursion to Mawlynnong, renowned as one of Asia’s cleanest villages and popularly known as “God’s Own Garden.” Enjoy a leisurely walk around the village and soak in its peaceful surroundings. Continue to Riwai Village, located about 8 km from Mawlynnong, and trek to the famous living root bridge. These unique bridges are naturally created by intertwining tree roots, forming strong pathways across the streams.
Shillong – Manas National Park
The wildlife part of your Wildlife Assam Meghalaya tour starts today. Post breakfast at Shillong, check out, and make your way to Manas National Park (around 5 to 6 hours). Check in to the hotel and spend the day at leisure. Spend a comfortable stay at the jungle resort in the national park.
Manas National Park
Get ready early in the morning for an elephant ride. Come back and have breakfast. Set off on a jeep safari in the Manas National Park Mathanguri area located amidst the gushing river. Here, enjoy the spectacular views of the misty Bhutanese Hills. Return to the jungle resort and enjoy a restful sleep.
Manas National Park – Guwahati
Today, you will check out from the jungle resort and drive towards Guwahati, the capital of Assam (3 to 4 hours). Enjoy the scenic views en route and once reached, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel. In the afternoon, visit Kamakhya Temple. It is among the oldest and most revered Hindu temples and centers of Tantric practices. Seek blessings from goddess Kamakhya and, afterward, come back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Departure from Guwahati
Your Assam and Meghalaya wildlife tour ends today. After a leisurely breakfast, you will be dropped off at the Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, from where you will go back home with unforgettable memories of your Northeast India trip.
